Wanted: Future Daughters-In-Law

People place want ads of ALL kinds.  Seriously...pick up the classified section of your newspaper the next time it's handy and see what you can find.  Some of them will perplex you, some of them will seem quite ordinary...and a select few will make you wish you could take your eyeballs out and wash them!  But what if someone (say me) were to place an ad for the future spouses of her sons?  Not that I would EVER actually do something like this, but wouldn't it be interesting?  **For the record, Y1 hasn't even gone on his "first official" date and I do realize that there should courtship/dating before marriage...but he's ONLY thirteen and Y2's only nine (and to him, girls STILL have cooties THANK YOU JESUS!) I'm still happily residing in my little place on the corner of Oblivious and Denial!**  So....here goes.....

Wanted:  Future Daughters-In-Law
Consideration will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

• Christian (Bible believing, Jesus loving, Gospel sharing, Kingdom working, fervent praying, servant hearted, mission minded)
• Sweet spirited (Compassionate, caring, loving, sincere, helpful, kind, courteous, friendly, hospitable, patient, respectful)
• Good natured (Doesn't take self too seriously, WELL developed sense of humor, finds joy in the simple things of life)
• Intelligent (Beyond book smart...without good common sense, all the book learning in the world doesn't mean a hill of beans!  Creative, resourceful, industrious, inventive)
• Thrifty (Not afraid of the clearance racks, coupons or store brand labels.  Demonstrate awareness that money does not grow on trees!)
• MUST LOVE CHILDREN (As the future grandmama...do I REALLY have to explain that?)
• Strong moral fiber (Clear sense of right and wrong, tenacious, courageous, brave, honest, self aware and aware that the world does NOT revolve around that same self)
• In possession of a well maintained feisty streak
• Confident
• Selfless and self sacrificing (Putting the needs of others ahead of one's self is a MUST)

Sounds like I'm looking for perfection, doesn't it?  I guess, in a sense, I am.  I hoping for...praying for...believing for the ones God has made for them...their perfect match.  No, she doesn't have to be perfect...just the perfect match for them. 

Y1 thought it was quite hysterical when he found out that I pray for his wife...for his brother's wife.  He lodged an objection having to do with being too young to worry about it and how he just KNEW that he'd have no trouble finding "THAT" girl.  Right....this spoken from the child who won't look beyond the first layer of things on the self in the icebox for what he needs!  If it's not in his direct line of vision, he can't see it and sometimes, doesn't care to look beyond that!  He's willing to settle for what's most handy.  Not exactly the best way for choosing a life mate, right?  Thus, my reason for prayer!
