This and That...Mr. Snark's Suburban Soundtrack

While I was playing in east Alabama this past weekend, Mr. Snark chaperoned the youth trip to Sevierville, TN.  He drove the church's new Suburban.  On a trip such as this, the Suburban comes in quite handy.  There's ALWAYS going to be a trip (or two...or three)to the local Wally World for supplies and since most of us don't walk around with a CDL as part of our skill sets, the regular passenger vehicle is a handy thing to have.  Anyway, the traffic in Sevierville (gate way to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg) is difficult, at best, in a "normal" car.  Navigating the very LARGE church bus through all that is something worthy of a Grecian epic!

One of the other chaperons is easily carsick, so the bus is not an option for her.  She rode shotgun with Mr. Snark...and assorted groups of students that switched out every time the caravan stopped...and from the steady stream of text messages that I got, it was a hilarious ride.  You see, whoever donated this Suburban spared no expense.  I have yet to ride in it, but I am told that it is swagged out...leather seats...lovely trim...and satellite radio.  Satellite radio and Mr. Snark means one thing and one thing only....all 80's, all the time.  He made such an impression on Mrs. Chaperon that she still had 80's guitar music running through her head on Tuesday!  She sent me a text message that said that very thing!  He ran into her last night at church and she fell into laughter upon sight of him...didn't even have to open his mouth!

If the trip had a soundtrack...I'm told it would play like this.  Get your dancin' shoes, people!

Serious dancing has happened because of this song.

And yes...that is former AI host, Paula Abdul, walking into the theater with Miss Jackson.  If memory serves, La Paula choreographed this video.

Mr. Lewis and company's ode to middle age...perhaps...but who cares?  It's a FUN song!

Just screams "prom theme song", doesn't it?  I know for certain that it was that very thing for the class ahead of mine.  JBJ has weathered the years much better than some of his other hair metal colleagues.  He's been married to his high school sweetheart for all these years and I'm sure that is part of the reason he's aged so well.  I also think all the hairspray has something to do with it, too!

Hair metal ballads....and techo-syntho pop songs delivered by big haired cuties in bustiers, because, of course, the bustiers enhance the quality of the song!  SNORT!

Unlike a lot of bands from the 1980's Hall & Oates have stood the test of time...and so has his mustache!

Ah...yes it does!
